We are concerned about the fair administration of justice in New York given the enactment of the gradual emancipation statute and, afterwards, the enactment of a state-wide prison system on the same date in 1799 and, in 1991, a blue-ribbon commission found that New York’s judicial system was “infested with racism” with no remedies being proposed to correct this racial inequity.

This is just disgusting. How does he get a free pass just because of who he is? Money talks and justice walks in this city every single day.
Racism is still everywhere in the courts. We see it time and time again. Thanks for standing up.
LET A JURY DECIDE. That is how the law works and the DA has no business dropping this. JUSTICE FOR NAFISSATOU.
The system is rigged against the little guy. If this was anyone else they would be rotting in jail. Shameful.
I am so tired of seeing powerful men get away with whatever they want. It makes me sick. Keep fighting for the truth.

I commend Attorney Alton Maddox for creating this petition. We have a human right to fight for truth and justice. Why are people so passive and reluctant to speak out against those things that are unjust to Us all. I hope that this petition is effective to bring about the changes that are needed, and long overdue. Thank you Attorney Alton Maddox for everything that you have done, and will continue to do to fight for truth and justice. Best to you and your family during 2017 and beyond.
