Free access to JFK website in Armenia
THE APPEAL IS ADDRESSED TO: 1. United Nations Human Rights Council 2. Council of Europe Information Office in YEREVAN 3. Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights 4. The Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Council of Europes Parliamentary Assembly 5. Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media 6. The Government of Republic of Armenia Justice for Khojaly International Civil Awareness Campaign is aimed at delivering the truth about Khojaly Massacre to international community. Khojaly Massacre is the most brutal killing against the humanity, perpetrated by Armenian military forces against peaceful civilians of a small town [KHOJALY] in Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on February 25-26, 1992. As it was reported in Armenian internet forums, government of Armenia banned access of Armenian internet users to the official website of the Justice for Khojaly Campaign. "I have a very high quality internet and entering the www.justiceforkhojaly.org website I am told "forbidden" and I have tried from different places, so the problem cant be only mine" -wrote an Armenian internet user from Yerevan in her comment posted at Justice for Khojaly Campaign Facebook page. We, on behalf of JFK Campaign team and supporters deeply regret that Armenian population, in particular its youth generation is restricted to access internet which constitutes clear violation of freedom of expression and Armenias own international commitments to respect basic human rights. 1. The Campaign urges Armenian government to stop any kind of restrictions towards Armenian citizens, including free access to internet! 2. The campaign also calls upon above mentioned International organizations, and its relevant institutions to use its influence to achieve compliance by the Armenian Government to ensure the free access of www.justiceforkhojaly.org for internet users in Armenia. THANK YOU for signing the petition and sharing with your friends. JFK International Campaign Team The official website of the campaign contains a civil action Declaration (go to links section in right column) that calls upon international community to extend its efforts in peaceful resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the basis of international law; as well as to take all necessary measures for bringing those perpetrated the Khojaly massacre to justice.
