Justice for Jorge Escalante
Jorge Escalante, 29, was crossing a roadway around 3 a.m. September 1st on the 800 block of West Sample Road when a driver, now identified by authorities as Edward Thomas, allegedly struck and killed him. Edward Thomas was arrested and is now facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in injuries and driving with a suspended license. He is currently out on bond. Our family is outraged that Thomas has only been charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in injuries! It actually resulted in the death of our loving, Jorge Escalante. Please help us fight for Justice by signing this petition that we will present to the State Attorney's office in an effort to have the charge changed to Vehicular manslaughter. Thomas hit Jorge and consciously made the decision to leave him in center of the road and in the way of danger. The result of his actions caused Jorge to die. Thomas needs to be held accountable for his actions. We believe there was likely a DUI involved, but we can not prove that being that Thomas was located by police a week after the accident. What we can prove is: Jorge Escalante did not deserve to die and our family will fight for his Justice! Please support us by signing this petition and sharing it with all of your family and friends. Thank you.
