This is exactly why I can't send my nonverbal child to public school. Just because he can't make a complaint does not mean this child does not mean he is not worthy of basic rights/laws we have as humans. I am disgusted by this and it is a miscarriage of justice. Please stop this woman from ever working with children again.

If she's not punished for this now, then how will we know she won't do it again, maybe more harm done to other innocent children!

I have a little brother with DS he is my best friend and I am a board member of the Down syndrome Society of Grant County and am around individuals with Down syndrome often, other then just my brother. They are the most Godly of people on this earth, they love and care for all and I will always support them. I can NOT believe anyone could or world do anything to harm in any way such a gentle soul. I will be praying for this paraprofessional to see the light and right her wrong, and to have courage to love those who love so deeply! Nothing about any person should matter except the love and kindness they show! This story it just hurts me so bad inside! I hope and pray nothing horrible ever happens to my brother or any other child or adult with any special need no matter how minor or severe it is! My heart is hurting so horribly bad for this boy and his family!

This is child abuse, and even if it had been an adult, she'd be charged with assault and battery or similar charges. This absolutely sickening and neglectful on the part of the DA.
