He was defending himself there is no harm in what he did. The inmate shouldnt have tried to attack him.

This gentlemen is an amazing man and is being treated unjust and unfair! He had been regarded to high standards and been praised for his amazing efforts even siding with sick inmates! I stand with Jarred

This officer was simply defending himself in a perpetually dangerous situation and he should not have been forced to resign from his position...I feel this was unlawfully unfair, because he is known to society and the community to be an upstanding, professional, compassionate human being.

Law Enforcement positions have arrived at dangerous levels with outrageous & inhumane expectations of enduring bodily harm, to the point of even death for the officers. Society & political arenas continually bash our protectors. This man is one of the genuine articles, never disruptive in handling his fellow man ...& well known to the inmates as a point of compassion and motivation. Further, he is an avid family man, a credit to the Flagler community & outwardly serves his maker..sharing it with everyone in his path in hopes of influencing better life choices...the official establishment that allowed this to happen is well put to shame. This decision was tragic for more than the Tazewell’s but far-reaching into the community...He was absolutely right in defending himself from unknown onslaught....Let’s all stand for right and overturn this injustice!

An officer being forced out of his job for self defense is absolutely unacceptable. No one would fire or force a doctor to resign for having vaccines against anything he may catch from a patient. So wrong in every way. Now prisoners and criminals will find it acceptable to inflict harm on officers because they will all be afraid to take action in fear of potentially losing their jobs.

Clearly this officer was trying to defend himself. It’s a gut instinct to defend yourself when someone is coming after you. He should not be forced to resign!

Officer Tazewell needs to be reinstated. Defending himself isnt a crime. Officer Tazewell thank you for putting your life on the line. Praying for a great outcome. Reinstate officer Tazewell.

Please reinstate him. What is he supposed to do let the inmate attack him ? He had every right to defend himself.

This was so poorly handled by the Sheriffs Office. Taz is a good man, DOING HIS JOB. Just goes to show you the S.O doesn’t have there Deputies backs

There was no way of him knowing if the walker being thrown at him was just the beginning of a life or death attack. We do know that his response to defend himself made it a moot point. He used no more force than was warranted & no retaliatory force was imputed upon the prisoner. Clearly fault can only be found by those who have never faced such danger and live in the protective shadow of those that have.

Officials need to look at this case again

Enough already. Police and CO’s are being assaulted at rates never heard of. They need to be able to defend themselves. This was in NO WAY A CASE OF EXCESSIVE FORCE. IT WAS PURE MINIMUM FORCE TO ATOP A THREAT. We need to STOP with the PC stuff and start supporting those who fight evil.

Someone defending themself should never be forced to resign. Punished, but not fired for self defense.

Jarred is a good friend of mine and wouldn’t do certain things unless he had the right intentions of doing so.

Why is this even being questioned as right or wrong? Common sense tells you not to threaten or engage a man twice your size
