The bravery one must have to work in a corrections facility shouldn’t be discounted and ultimately punished when the person who CHOOSES to put their lives in danger is threatened.

As I remember it, Jarred was one of the two officers that tried to say the life of the man who was ignored while complaining he didn’t feel well. Unfortunately they were unsuccessful in saving the man’s life. The inmates complaints were completely ignored. Jarred and the other officer were completely devastated when the men passed away at the hospital. This incident with the inmate throwing his walker at Jarred was handled very poorly. The inmate should have been held accountable, Jarred was only defending himself.

The inmate was 100% at fault and the deputy was 100% justified in his response. The inmate should be charged and serve more time. The deputy should be rehired with an apology!

The FCSO should be ashamed of themselves for how they went about that investigation. Had there been audio, then none of this would have happened. He is one of the nicest and most family oriented men that I’ve ever come in contact with. That man was not only defending himself, but he was defending his family in the process so that he could come home to them. He did nothing wrong!

I am truly applaud that an officer of the law, whi felt his life was threatened, he defends himself against a criminal and he is terminated from his job. So what, does this mean all law enforcement officers are going to be terminated if they defend themselves? Our streets will be run with criminals and our jails will no longer be a punishment for criminals but a glorified daycare. The decision in terminating Officer Tazwell is unethical and should be overturned immediately.

This man is the most ethical man I know. He is a family man. Would never do anything to hurt anyone. He was protecting himself from an inmate that was threatening him. What has happened to him is absolutely wrong.
