Mrs. Pedersen was handed a program that was struggling to survive, and built it into what it is today. She is very good at what she does, and perhaps she can guide you in the direction you want to go with it before she retires next school year. She deserves that opportunity.

Mrs.peterson is one of the best teachers at LQ. It's so unfair that this is being done on her last year before retiring! This is a low blow from La Quinta High administration. I have nothing but amazing memories of health academy with Mrs.Peterson. I hope they reconsider or else I will be striking!

I am saddened to think she can’t finish her career after years of hard work in the position of coordinator. She has offered nothing but excellence to her profession.

She is amazing this program would fall apart if you force her to leave and be a pe teacher. She deserves way more than what she is getting. I don’t know the reason for her being demoted but I hope it’s a rightful reason and not just a way to change the school. This will not be forgotten.

Without Ms.Pedersen MHA will never be the same. She has taught me and other students many life lessons and skills. I interned for 1 year at a pharmacy and it was Ms.Pederson who made it happen. I’m grateful I had the chance to be in such a wonderful program, and with her as the director and coordinator.

I really hope DSUSD reconsiders. My daughter is a sophomore in her first year of the MHA and is crushed at the thought of this. . It’s such a shame to treat a teacher this way

I hope that Mrs. Pedersen is given what she has earned. The right to leave on her terms and spend her final year working with the program she worked hard to build.
