Mr. Scott has been a teacher at College Park High School for his entire teaching career.

This petition is addressing the serious accusations of racism/discrimination that have been directed towards Mr. Scott. It is crucial to provide a comprehensive perspective on this situation, as I am deeply concerned about the potential consequences of these allegations on his character and reputation.

Firstly, I wish to emphasize that Mr. Scott is someone who has consistently demonstrated values of inclusivity, fairness, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background.

Moreover, I would like to draw attention to the context of the statements or actions that have led to these accusations. It is vital to approach any incident with a nuanced understanding of the situation, recognizing that misinterpretations or misunderstandings can occur.

It is also important to consider the impacts of labeling someone as racist without substantiated evidence. Such charges can lead to irreversible damage to a person's reputation and relationships, not to mention the emotional toll it can take.

I urge the school district to investigate this matter thoroughly and fairly, considering all perspectives before drawing any conclusions. Mr. Scott is looking forward to the opportunity to address these accusations head-on, defend his character, and demonstrate his unwavering commitment to inclusivity.

He deserves a fair and unbiased process to respond to the evidence against him. If you agree please sign this petition.

As one of Mr. Scott's previous black students, I can attest to his great character and anti-racist behavior. If he heard bullying or slurs, he would be the first to step in and take action. He expects a lot of his students academically but is dedicated to their success and will supply help in any way necessary. You just have to be committed to your academic success too.

I'm no longer living in California so I can't attend the MDUSD event, however if further words of support are needed I'll be the first to come forward. He changed the trajectory of my life in the best way posssible, and really, that's all you can ask for in a teacher.

Mister Scott was my favorite teacher. I’m a military kid that moved schools constantly and mister Scott is the only teacher that has had a huge positive impact on me as a person and I’m proud to call him my friend even 5 years after taking his class in high school. He doesn’t deserve the discrimination he’s getting just because he’s a free spirit. Open your minds MDUSD. As a school district in the San Francisco Bay Area, you’re sorely disappointing me.

I am writing this as an acquaintance of Mr. Scott’s of over 40 years. Whereas I am not informed of the details related to this review I can state that the idea of Mr. Scott being a racist couldn’t be further from my knowledge of him. Throughout his childhood and his adult life I have only known him to be inclusive, kind and caring to all.

I worked with Mr. Scott at College Park. Students from his class were excited about sharing lessons they had learned. As a colleague, Doug, was inspirational in his approach to teaching science that students could use in their daily lives. I don't understand why he is consistently hassled by administration. A student who doesn't do the work, doesn't deserve a grade better than earned. Let Doug get back to what he does best: educating students for the future.

The school board should be complementing Doug Scott for his ethical approach to teaching - not firing him for refusing to alter grades after the principal pressured him.

Mr .Scott is currently my neighbor and has been for over a decade/ he is responsible and a kind man , with only 1 purpose which is to teach the students. He has dedicated his life to his students and get frustrated at the level of incompetence in our schools!!!!! I come from a family of teachers and have to agree with him ,our education is system is severely failing our children and family’s .., We need higher standards in order for our success to be better. It is very simple..,. We as a state have no consequences with bad behavior , and therefore we have a state out of control. My grandfather was a principal and my grandmother and aunt were teachers and they are probably turning in there graves , that all of there hard work is gone ..,, time for changes for OUR CHILDREN ‼️

This man is a dedicated teacher who strives to prepare our young generation with the tools they need to be successful in life. His passion is teaching and a teacher.. a true teacher sees nothing less that a hungry student wanting to learn. It saddens me that someone of this man’s stature can be so easily manipulated in the trivial worlds “easy way out” mentality. Should he be held accountable for this lie you will be robbing future generations of the passionate knowledge he offers to anyone with a desire to learn
