Masjids should not have politics involved. Committee should purely serve the community & all decisions should reflect this. All I say, fear Allah. Allah swt knows everything, what's in your hearts & the real reason. Remember that day, when you will have to stand in front of Allah swt, then what will you say...Do taubah & change the decisions.

The community masjid needs a much needed flow of young blood running through it. the current masjid is run by the older generation for their needs. The maulana brought with him simple yet effective change that started to make a difference.

Slms all. I have not signed the petition as yet because I'm not from Manchester. Our imams have families as well and need to live comfortably as is their right. We tend to look down on them whereas they are the true learned ones who we should be looking up to. We don't pay them enough and want to keep them under our tthums. I'm not saying that this happening in Old Trafford but is happening elsewhere and is a general trend around the world. If this Imam is not being paid properly then the people concerned will have to answer for it on the day of judgement and most definitely will have have an effect in their life

It would be good for those who made this decision to explain what sort of financial constraints led to the decision to relieve Maulana. Did they offer a reduced wage? Are the financial constraints due to the mismanagements of funds in the refurbishment of the old Masjid building? If there are financial constraints, does the Masjid have a shortfall in money, can the community see the previous accounts to see where these financial constraints are. Secondly, who made this decision. It seems like the wider committee are just as much in shock as everyone else. It is not an unfair request to ask those persons who made this decision to come out from the shadows and explain their decision. Finally if there really are financial constraints, why is there not an EGM? Either some people have mismanaged Masjid funds or lied to Maulana Owais in writing about the reason for not renewing his contract.
