In my opinion Justice has not been carried out accordingly...When this driver was clocked to be driving at a speed of 47mph in a speed restricted area of a 40mph...He has caused the death of a beautiful young girl who had her future taken away also her family are having to face life without her...This Family are having to not see their Beloved Daughter, finish her exams, get married & have children of her own....Conveying our Condolences to The Family!!

i feel for the family i do.. but if the cps thought they could charge they would have!!! read between the lines..why hasnt he been charged.. oh coz it WASNT his fault.. and yes u say if he was doing 40 he wouldnt have been in that place at that time no but another person would have been and they would have been doing 60 as that is the speed limit of that road!! it was a accident!!

This is a tragic accident, I feel for the family Losing a child I also feel for the lorry driver who has to live with this for the rest of his life....
How many people on here knows the facts????
Not a lot I guess!!!!
My questions are, why was a young girl walking along that awful stretch of road,,, wearing black,,, headphones in and texting!!! Unable to be aware of traffic around her????
Wat parent would let there child walk that far in dusk light alone???? Over a mile I believe!!!
If I am correct the accident was not head on!!! (I'm sure of this),,, contact was with the side of the lorry which In my eyes and others Ive spoken to means there was no concerntration on vehicle activity on this terrible junction!!!!
It was a tragic accident !!!!

The driver of the lorry should be convicted for speeding which he does regular and for killing such a young girl, has the driver got to kill someone else before hes convicted. killing a lovely young girl.

Amazed about how many people are sharing their views when they disagree with the facts of the petition. This space is for family and friends and those who think what the CPS have done is wrong. The people here want justice for Martha- in whatever shape that comes in, and things like this cannot be let go of, if not for Martha's sake then for the sake of further road fatalities I'm this country that go unspoken because the justice system is not doing it's job. I would imagine the people here who are jumping to the defence of this man would not be so vocal if it was their own child. If you are not in support of the petition, then all you need to do is look the other way, it's not hard to shut your hole and move on.

My sympathies to the family in this tragic time. As in many accidents there are two sides. The driver was speeding, yes, but the young girl stepped out into the road into oncoming traffic, whilst wearing headphones and was surely distracted by this. And in January, it is dark around 5 o'clock The CPS have decided not to prosecute because they see no fault in this accident. AND because there was a fatality they didn't make this decision lightly. It has nothing to do with funding, not when there is a fatality.

she would have had a better chance and the driver could have been able to see her and slowed down. I knew Martha and she would have not crossed that road if she could see anything coming. If you dont have anything positive to say then dont comment on here. think of Marthas Family who come on here daily, Im sure you would feel differently if it was a member of your family.

I dont understand why you would comment on here,Carole unless you wanted to sign the petition for Martha. There is NO excuse for speeding.Speed restrictions are there for a reason to stop "accidents" from occurring.Would you feel the same way if this affected your family? Why do you think anyone would sympathize with a person who breaks the law above an innocent bystander.Unbelievable!

We are not baying for anyones blood. We just want justice to be served, if he had been slower then Martha or him would have been more likely to see the other. Its not just this one time he has broken the speed limit. I wouldnt really call it a little considering the 20% over he was, which can do major damage to a human being. Maybe if he had done 40 he could have slowed down. Yes he has to live with what he has done, but that was because of his mistakes. Marthas family and friends have to live the rest of their lives without her, I was one of Marthas friends and it is hard already, if you had know Martha you would not have written that statement. At the end of the day a young beautiful girl lost her life and we just want the justice she deserves.
