My husband got 24 months for a car crash that killed the old lady in the other car. He wasn't speeding, not drunk, not taking drugs, not eating,having a drink or smoking a fag, he wasn't on his phone; he just lost control on an icy road. This driver was in control of a massive vehicle and over the speed limit, of course he should go to prison!

As a mother I cannot begin to understand what the family is feeling and will always feel and that breaks my heart. Give this family some justice and maybe a little peace.

My uncle was killed by a driver who fell asleep. People who kill others on the road should be prosecuted.

Maybe if he wasn't speeding all the way from where he was coming from Martha would still be here today as the timing would have been.totally different. You say we all have broken the speed limit but actually we are not all persistant speeders like he was. It was a busy dark night on a cross roads with hatch markings are you realy saying in them circumstances it is ok to do almost 20% over the speed limit? I think not!

Driving a 30 tonne lorry is totally different from driving a Car speed limits are there for a reason there's no comparison

No-ones after anyone's blood .. We want justice for Martha. If I got caught speeding do you think I should be let off too ? No.. So why should this person.
I doubt you would feel the same if this was YOUR child !
Everyday is a nightmare without Martha ..
Please think before you make comments. Martha's mother started this petition and will be in more pieces because of your comment. If you care please remove it before she sees it. Thank you xxx x

Carole ... really... We're not trying to see this man put behind bars ... just wanting to see that if you break the law, repeatedly, that you expect the law to be followed. I personally have had messages to me, from people doing less speed than this man, in a 40 mph zone .. these people have been caught and given points and a fine or offered a place on a course to improve their own awareness.... This man, a habitual speeder, doesn't even get a telling off ... yet he took the life of another! That is no justice .... Yes accidents happen, and No not everyone breaks the speed limit, and certainly not everyone breaks the speed limit regulary ..... please consider this comment and what reactions people might have towards it. x

My daughter got off her school bus one night and as she was crossing the road she slipped over, right into the path of an oncoming car. The driver was going below 30 in a 30 mile an hour limit and as a result her life was saved and I hugged the elderly driver and told him I thanked god that he had come along and not an habitual speeder. This poor angel was not so lucky as this driver was going over the limit and does so on a regular basis without thought to others and she be held to account for it. Whatever sort of person are you Carole. Nobody wants to see him behind bars, just not allowed to get away with it...

The lorry would have still killed her at 40mph! It's tragic but her own fault for walking in front of a lorry! STOP blaming the lorry driver!!!
