As a victim of domestic violence more needs to be done to protect the victims and the community.

DV needs to be taken more seriously. A piece of paper means nothing to some people. Offenders need to remain incarcerated so the victims can feel safe.

Should have never let him out. That’s your one job, is to be a judge. Absolutely terrible.

This should never be allowed to happen...more protection needs to be given to victims of domestic violence! Low cash bail or a piece of paper (restraining order) does nothing to prevent OR protect...how many more have to die before the justice system changes?

As a survivor of domestic violence, I will always side with the victim. There is always more that can be done to prevent and protect them. Prayers to this family and every family that is touched by domestic violence and let there be stronger help for yhem.

Sorry for the typo but voice to text is aweful. This is what it should read: I signed it and could care less what the State PD, Atty office, or anyone else in bed with these Traitors. This Attorney literally was culpable in this young woman's Murder. See body of text below: You have blood on your hands Councilor. I pray your able to see the damage you have caused by your clear lack of understanding of Domestic Violence. You should be censured, Disbarred, and prosecuted for Wrongful death in a civil Court and involuntary manslaughter in criminal court. Hope your enjoying your Martinis in Portsmouth, after all we In Coos County are Devasted by the Murder of a young lady, by a man You released. Your a disgrace

This was a tragic, senseless, and preventable death. This beautiful person was taken from her family and friends and community in the worst possible way. Their loss is impossible to imagine, their grief impossible to bear, and can only be truly understood by the other families of women who have died violently by the actions of their significant other. If the people who have the power to prevent these tragedies from happening do not do their job, hold them accountable. Being removed from office is such a small price to pay, when Marisol lost her life.
