These owners should definitely be held accountable for their dogs behaviour. They would be if a child was attacked!

To Start with Ban Back yard breeders that dont care what they breed as long as they get paid and dont care what becomes of these dogs.

We are lions led by donkeys if the 'powers-that-be' can't look past their expense accounts & see that us common folk have to put up with these horrendous events on a daily basis - do they not comprehend the trauma of a blind person's guide dog (deliberately bred to be non-violent) being ripped apart? We are led by fools and incompetents....

The law must be changed so that irresponsible dog owners are brought to task over such brutual attacks on innocent dogs.

This is so common today and the law is just not adequate in thinking this can be ignored. A small child has been traumatised as well and severe dog attacks like this, where the dogs are dangerous and off leash and not accompanied, must be considered 'crimes'.

I own a border terrier and I am always looking out for a dog that is off of the lead. My ozzy doesn't like other dogs so it is a real problem for me, I always keep him on a lead and pick him up when a dog comes running up to him.

...this incident is just appalling but unfortunately is becoming more and more common. How many more Magics have to lose their lives & families left devastated and traumatised before something is done, owners of out of control dogs must have accountability for the actions of their dogs. My thoughts are with Magics owners.

I'm appalled that dogs whilst off the leads with owners whom have no visible control attacking pets , that the owners are not prosecuted if no control on the lead end off .

It's long passed time that the owners of out if control dogs who attack, maim or kill other dogs in an unprovoked attack were subject to the full force of the law. It's high time these
incidents were made a criminal offence with severe penalties including prison sentences for the owners.

Why would we not treat this the same as an attack on a child!

I think all dog owners have a responsibility for there dogs. If a dog viciously attacks another it most probably has something to do with the au it's brought up. Owners should definitely be held accountable!
