There needs to be an independent committee to audit all findings related to Jax's death. The whole handling has been shoddy, and the treatment her family has received is appalling. The Lakewood PD clearly isn't able to police itself.

I never knew Jax, but I've met the people who did, and held them as they cried.

This is unacceptable from those who are to serve the people they are supposed to represent and serve. Jefferson County Commissioners and the Lakewood City Council need to step up and provide the transparency that this case requires, and should welcome an independent Task Force that includes members of the trans and LGBTQ+ community.
