Sending prayers for further recovery. If there were more appropriate consequences for driving drunk, maybe fewer people would do it.

I am sickened and saddened that this drunk driver wasn't arrested immediately after being released from the hospital. I can't fathom that any justice system would allow this to happen, let alone ours. Please put this wrong to a right.

I lost a son to drunk driver and never received justice. It’s sad what the world has come to knowing you can destroy 1- family while the other walks around with nothing no worries and just till they get another drink in there hand. So sad our laws are no stronger on this... praying for this family

No one who is this selfish and has no concern for anyone but himself need leniency of any kind. In fact any future income he gains should be given to James Downs family. Drunks need to punished so severely that it puts fear in the hearts of anyone who considers drinking and driving. Drunks are a plague on society and need to be treated like the vermin they are.

I am very sorry for the problems this drunk driver has caused in your lives! I have a zero tolerance for drunk driving. Even a single alcoholic drink and then driving if people were in a wreck it wouldn’t be a full dui it would be a dwi. Most people haven’t a clue to this. May your family continue to grow strong through this and be happy!
