The criminal responsible should be required to pay monetary damages for the loss of wages and medical. This family's suffering is the result of another's criminal actions. I pray that our justice system will actually work in this case.

These drunk drivers must pay with lost time from their lives for the damage they have done to others due to utter responsibility. Justice is needed

No judge should allow a travesty of justice. Do the right thing or face the consequences of your actions.

This is criminal to cause this kind of injury while breaking the law and NOT get jail time, he should also be held responsible for this mans medical and loss of income !!

I would love to hear reasoning behind this horrible crime going unpunished. The man should have been arrested on the spot.

Prayers are with you and your family, James. Drinking and driving is against the law, and it is a choice. My brother in law died at the age of 22 years old from an accident as a result of drinking and driving. It shouldn't happen. Wishing you continued strength and recovery

I as a Paramedic and having lost a brother to a drunk driver. Believe that drunk drivers should be placed in jail, not get the chance to keep repeating the offense. I have seen it countless times for repeat offenders, not just in the medical field but also working in law enforcement as a dispatcher. I pray this family gets help and closure for what has been done to them.

I wish you luck! I too was in a wreck no fault of my own, the kid that hit me due to Texas laws was protected and my family financially devastated. Me, physically, mentally, emotionally changed. Texas laws need to change. I’ll pray for you.
