I asked myself, “How would I feel if someone killed a loved one of mine and the killer was set free only a few years later?” I’d be fearful of not just my own safety but everyone else. I’d be devastated for the person whose life was stolen, yet our “justice” system may give his killer a second chance. I’d feel little validation in the extent of my loss and the value of the victims life. I pray the judge also asks themself this question and base their verdict accordingly.

Erik was one of my nephew’s best friend. This person not only planned this murder but went out and searched with the family when he knew what had happened and where Erik was. Erik was brutally murdered. This person has shown no remorse to this day. He has destroyed a family. His actions haunt my nephew to this day. He should never be allowed to put any other family through this again. I believe that someone that could be the mastermind of this brutal murder at his age is best locked up and prevented from ever having a life outside prison walls. He is a threat that shouldn’t be ever given another chance. He is who he is. He is a murderer.
