My son is alumni College Park, Ryan Sullivan. This teacher is one of the best teachers College Park has ever had!

My older siblings, neighbors, and their friends who've gone on to science careers and nurtured lifelong interests in learning and the natural world say they were deeply inspired by Doug Scott in his first years of teaching. I can say with confidence as his former student and the friend of his former students that the passion for science, education, and creative science communication that he brings to the classroom is priceless, and that his loss to any school would be irredeemable. I also worry based on personal experience that the administrator-educator relationships in this school are unhealthy and top-down, and have also personally witnessed a discouragingly high number of my peers’ parents attempt to interfere with and influence their children’s grades and educational outcomes, including calling, emailing, and showing up in person to intimidate and influence educators and administrators, including Mr. Scott. I strongly encourage the board, the administration, and stakeholders to consider both the voices of concerned management and the ready responses of a legion of grateful students in taking any action. After all of my years going to school, Mr. Scott still remains at the top of my list as one of the best teachers I ever had. His passion is contagious, and I credit him with the reason I’ve chosen to study and pursue a career and biology. He is a life changer!

I remember Mr. Scott as one of the most passionate teachers and one of the most engaging educators. I remember that his class was a class that I enjoyed attending in a time and age where we were always trying to find reasons to skip school. This by itself is a rare find. Although my career did not follow science or educating, I was still inspired by this teacher. Inspired to be passionate and thorough with everything I do; inspired to inspire others. I do not know the specifics of this situation and why the principal is going after Mr. Scott’s teaching credentials. It’s as if this principal has forgotten what he is responsible for - dedicated and respected teachers. I applaud you, Mr. Scott for standing up for what is right. That is the example that our children need right now.

I personally did not have Mr Scott as a teacher at my time at CP in 1995 and 1996, although many of my friends did. There was not one person who I knew who didn’t love Mr Scott as a teacher, a person, and a role model. Many looked up to him and he was well respected.

Class of 2003. Mr. Scott was my favorite teacher! I wrote a portion of my Senior letter about him.

Mr. Scott deserves to be heard and protected by the Teacher's Union. This is wrong in so many ways!!!

Doug Scott is passionate about teaching and the Earth. He reaches students and because of him, many have pursued careers in biology and wildlife management. He's unconventional, but he gets results, and for his students, "Every day is Earth Day."

I still use the skills Mr. Scott imparted on me over 20 years ago. Now I use those in my role as a college biology professor. Where is his union rep in all this? No teacher should be fired for holding students to a standard of learning and having the integrity to avoid grade inflation.

Scott’s care for others has always been at his core. He’s a true inspiration, always going the extra mile to help others. This truly is at his core for decades. (Feel free to contact, if you have questions).

Mr. Scott is such an important teacher who made a lasting impression on my life. CPHS was lucky to have him. I just wrote to MDUSD in support of his reinstatement and hope others will do the same.

Class of 2010 ...Mr. Scott's class was the most interesting and memorable class I took at College Park. As a previous student, I could tell that Mr. Scott was passionate about teaching. My brother also took his class. He wrote his personal statement to the University of Washington about the impact Mr. Scott left on him. He got accepted to the university and to the biology department. Thank you Mr. Scott!! Keep fighting for justice
