Great teacher who really understood how to reach teenagers.

What I learned in his physiology class my senior furthered my interest in the life sciences and eventual career path. While his teaching techniques may be non-traditional, they are memorable and speak to high schoolers. My class chose to have him as our speaker at graduation due to his passion and charisma as a teacher.

I was a student of Mr. Scott for Biology, Earth Science and again as a teachers assistant. Doug is the most passionate teacher I have ever met. He cares so fiercely about what he teaches that he inspired me and so many other students to WANT to learn about the most important thing, our planet. The people who want to take away his right to teach are either students who tried to piss off during his classes and were called out, entitled parents who would rather wine and complain to get their kids the grade they think they "deserve" than hold their children accountable and a principal who is too frightened to stand up to these parents and back up their teachers. I support Doug 100%

Never had him as a teacher, but with all the good and positive comments I always heard around College Park about him, I wish I did. Very friendly, genuine person.

One of the greatest teachers I have ever known. It is the principal who should be fired, not Mr. Scott

Mr. Scott is hands down one of the best teachers I have ever had. He inspired us daily with humor and authenticity and was an engaging anchor of inspiration and hope for many. I fully attribute my love of the Sciences, the natural world and sticking though a college career to his early presence in my life. Thank you for showing up for me with gusto, with flare and with fearlessness.

You don’t tell a man who has dedicated 28 years of his life inspiring countless students to just pack up and leave in 15 minutes. MDUSD owes the community a fair and diligent investigation into this fiasco. We want justice for Mr. Scott. Shame on you Joe Alvarez!!!

Known Doug since college, ironically in an "art of injustice" class we became friends. Best of luck. Steve

Doug is a celebrity figure for Pleasant Hill. It is unfortunate that a person proud of his individuality has to face the constant harassment from the establishments that cannot appreciate it.

I have known Mr. Scott for 30 years. An outstanding person, honourable and caring teacher. At times tough decisions are made. He chose to speak out and should NOT be penalized for such an action. MDUSD.....do the right thing. Reinstate Mr. Scott. Retire the principal

My son attended college park from 2005-2009. Mr Scott was an excellent source for learning and as an individual. Obviously there is a personality conflict between his teachings and the principal. Do not let this fine teacher be thrown to the side
