I can easily say that Mr Scott was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. Not only did he have a passion for his job and a knowledge and love for the earth, but he inspired others to feel the same. I think it was a huge mistake to fire him and myself and other students will continue to push back.

Mr. Scott is a teacher who actually cares about what he teaches, unlike many others out there. I learned more in his class than in most of my other classes, all thanks to his engaging teaching style, and his unique quirks that make him who he is. He’s a very reasonable person, so when I hear that parents were mad that he failed a student, I can guarantee you that was a well earned failing grade. He’s like no other teacher, and he deserves to stay in College Park’s biology department. Thank you Mr. Scott for making freshman year biology even more fun and educational than I thought was possible!

When someone contributes all of who they are and do it with such excellence, but not in the traditional style, they are available for criticism. When the same unorthodox method serves the highest aspirations of teaching young people about responsibility and love of our planet, but is blunted by a bias, that wrong must be made right.

I had Mr. Scott for Biology in the 2016-2017 school year. He's a great teacher who is very unique and funny. Even though he has a bit of an unconventional style, you can easily pass his class if you simply study for the tests. However, you should not pass if you don't. For him to be pressured to change grades and to be fired for not doing so is completely inexcusable. He has taught students like me to care about our environment for 28 years! Mr. Alvarez has only been here for a few years. He should not be able to fire such an excellent teacher that easily. I am a senior now and I miss seeing him ride to school on his motorcycle. College Park isn't the same without Mr. Scott.

I know the impact Doug Scott had on not only my daughter, but hundreds of others. His ethics should be honored and his passion for teaching more so by allowing him to keep his job.

I had Mr. Scott in high school, now my oldest is in high school, would have loved the chance for him to get instruction from him as a fellow teacher.

The best teacher at the school. He always made sure what he was teaching was understood, and found interactive ways to keep the students engaged.
This is a disgusting injustice.

He is the kind of teacher you always remember because of the enthusiasm he has while teaching. Losing him would be a great loss!

Parents and administrators who want to shield children from failure do them an immense disservice. Failure is, and always has been the greatest teacher. That society has reached such a place where entitled children get good teachers fired for giving them an F, is shameful and disheartening.

Mr Scott is the reason I majored in science. He is the most pazzionaye and creative trscher I had. It is absurd that he was fired for not following an unethical request to change a grade.

I had Mr. Scott for Biology and he truly made science come alive. He is one of the most memorable teachers I had at College Park. He taught me the scientific method that I have used repeatedly in my college studies. I will always be grateful to him and support him 100%.

bring the evidence , go to court, and convict, before he is sentenced.
Speculation has no business with the truth.
