This about integrity. Doug is a man of tremendous character and he did the right thing. For the principal to retaliate in such a way is despicable.

Mr Scott was the best teacher I ever had. I wish I could have had him as a teacher every year of high school. He was engaging, funny and really made you understand what he was trying to teach you. He is a wonderful teacher and it would be a crime against his furtive students to take him away from College Park. Isn’t someone who inspires kids to do better and be creative and think exactly who we need??

Mr.Scott was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. He makes learning fun and provides a safe space for students to talk to him about personal issues without the fear of judgment. The district would be making a huge mistake by terminating Mr. Scott. I truly hope the district takes the time to investigate the principal before taking any action. CP Students deserve to have an influential instructor like Mr.Scott. There is a reason that so many of his students are signing this petition and are enraged to hear the threat against him. I was his student almost 20 years ago and he made such an impact in my life that I feel the need to stand up and help him fight. If that doesn’t speak volumes to the district, I don’t think anything will.

I went to high school with Doug Scott and my daughter was so fortunate to have Mr. Scott as a teacher. He went above and beyond to connect with the kids and she absolutely loved him. 28 years as a teacher only to be harassed by the district is sickening. He should be reinstated to be able to do what he loves, TEACHING!

This is heartbreaking. I think anyone that I know that knows Doug Scott, knows he doesn’t deserve this. He has such a special place in so many hearts. He has taught so many students throughout 28 years and has been there and helped so many people through rough times. He has such a kind heart and is so giving and helpful to anyone and everyone. We love you Mr. Scott and I just know people will come together and help in anyway we can. This is just not right!!! #EVERYDAYISEARTHDAY !

Mr. Scott is an amazing teacher! I never was one to like or understand science until I walked into his classroom. He made learning this subject fun and attainable to me. What is being done to him is truly disgusting.

Mr. Scott inspired me to study ecology and mathematics at the master level. I feel deep gratitude for his tremendous effort to teach me to love science. Certainly, any school would be lucky to have such a motivational teacher. I came from a broken home, had to spend time in foster homes, and I looked forward to all of Mr. Scott's lessons. Without teachers like this (and there are not enough), I might have fallen through the cracks and become a criminal or an addict, or worse. In part because of Mr. Scott's integrity and love of science, I became a researcher and teacher instead. I believe some members of the administration have made a very grave mistake in making exaggerated claims which wrongfully harm Mr. Scott, and I ask that this nonsense stop immediately so that Mr. Scott can continue to inspire students.
