Doug Scott is an unorthodox but amazing teacher. I am a former student and do not agree with the decision to terminate his employment. No teacher engaged me into science like Mr. Scott, it’s truly a loss to this community if he is no longer on the staff at College Park.

Mr Scott was my teacher in 2012. Of all the classes I have taken in highschool, his class was the most engaging and fun... because of Doug Scott, I am now pursuing a degree in the field of science, particularly plant science and envionmental science. This man is a gem to the scientific community and all the students who walk through his classroom door. Getting rid of Mr. Scott would be a huge mistake. The fact that there was talk in my 2014 graduating year about trying to get rid or Mr. Scott, and now years later they are continuing to happen leads me to believe that there could be a huge discrimination lawsuit against MDUSD for wrongful termination of Doug Scott.

Mr. Scott is one of 3 teachers I can honestly say made a difference in my high school life. But he was the best of those 3. His passion for teaching was unmatched by any teacher or professor I have ever had. It’s incredibly disappointing to see the administration so maliciously go after someone I know has inspired hundreds of students in some way over his more than 25 years of teaching.

Mr. Scott was one of my most memorable teachers to this day. He was always passionate and sincere in his teaching; his class was one of my favorites. Passionate teachers are seen few and far between in my experience-let’s keep them when we can.

Mr. Scott is the reason why decided to major in Biology in college. His knowledge and excitement in the courses he teaches is infectious. Mr. Scott is a kind man and deserves to continue teaching, he is a special educator.

As a long time friend to Doug Scott I've always found his heart to not only be in the right place but also in the best interests of the students he sees as his family.

I am a former student of Mr. Scott’s and I can attest that he teaches with integrity, equity, and dignity. His summary dismissal is unjust and should be reversed. He deserves due process and a fair evaluation.

I’ve known Doug Scott for almost as many years as I have been alive. I wasn’t lucky enough to be a student of his, but his love of the sciences and this planet have been inspirational to me and many others. If you care about your students, please reconsider. The world needs more educators like him!

While attending this school I have watched this man be accused of things he didn't even do in which I was in attendant of the class that it supposedly happened. Doug Scott is an amazingly passionate teacher who deserves nothing but his job back. He cares for the Earth and his students and expects nothing but the best from everyone.

If it wasnt for Mr. Scott, I wouldnt have gotten through high school. He made me want to go to class and learn. He relates to the different ways children learn. Been out of high school for over 10 years and I still remember things he taught me. He deserves to teach.
