As a former union rep in WCCUSD schools, isn’t his union supporting him in this? For an admin to do this is unethical and does not show solidarity with his staff!

Mr. Scott is a great teacher. I enjoyed his physiology class as a junior at College Park High School. I looked forward to his class. I learned. It's said that you will always remember the teachers that made an impact by their passion for their job to pass on information and knowledge. Mr. Scott wat one of those teachers for me. In my high school days I got good grades and some bad grades but I know I got the grades I deserved. In Mr. Scott's class I was engaged. I wanted to try my best. I know I was graded fairly for my work. From what I've heard, there was a dispute over a grade that Mr.Scott gave a student and the principal changed it. Even if this action to change the grade was warranted, the termination of the teacher (especially of Mr. Scott) is not. As long as Doug Scott wants to teach high school kids science, and still loves what he does, he belongs in the classroom. I support him and hope the school board questions this principles motives in this situation.

I am from the class of 2008 and i had mister Scott when I was a freshmen and I loved being there. He showed so much passion for his class and I never had a problem with him what so ever so he should stay and be able to teach !!! He is a teacher and giving the grades on what his students deserves the one who should be fired is the principal for changing it ! NOT AT ALL FAIR!!!!

You can not be serious. This is one person who should be praised for his ability to reach people not only children but adults as well. He is a mentor and a scholar and should never have been faced with such scrutiny. Leave him be.

When a teacher makes such a profound mark on you they can help change your future. He was the only one at CPHS that ever made a mark on my life. He engaged me, helped me learn and helped me developed to the person I am today, Biology degree and all. Often people judge others based upon appearance in stead of character. I can only hope this is not the case as CPHS needs more teachers like Scott, not less.

Doug Scott was beyond amazing when he taught my son biology 8 years ago. He was one of the VERY FEW College Park teachers that impacted my son with his total sincerity and dedication to students. Mr. Scott was also our neighbor for 7 years and we were always very happy to run into him. Always kind and unassuming and dedicated to his craft of teaching.

Doug is a good friend and is obviously a huge asset to the community. Reading the testimonials from his students speaks volumes to the positive impact he has on them. Not everyone fits in a box that is built from bias. Think outside the box and do the right thing by keeping him teaching.

Doug was undeniably the most impactful teacher I had during my time at College Park. His passion and unwavering support for his students was what defines him. We need more teachers like Doug, not less.

The School District needs to stop this form Of Harassment against a fantastic teacher! Mr. Scott has an amazing way of teaching. He has always gone above and beyond in his teaching style! My kids have always raved he finds a way to teach out side the box, and make sure all students are treated fairly! To be accepted and respected is all Mr.Scott has ever asked! Shame on this District, yet again!!

Mr.Scott IS my favorite teacher by far! He is the reason why I love biology and earth science, and really enjoyed school the way it SHOULD BE! Mr. Scott loves and believes in his teachings. He’s not the typical “monotone, read out of the book, and take tests to pass” teacher. He fully submerges you into his teachings and make remember it for the rest of your life! He was very visual and hands on. I can’t remember any of the information from reading the biology textbook. But, I sure remember what Mr. Scott taught us. He taught us about evolution, and how the earth started with bacteria. I remember his earth’s timeline. He made the whole class get up and hold onto the timeline that he created. It went all around the edges of the classroom. Bacteria existed for million and billions of years. And then suddenly new life form appeared, very quickly came the rest, including dinosaurs and humans. I remember growing bacteria. He let us go around the school and swab 3 items that we thought were dirty and grow bacteria to test our theory. Did you know that money and doorknobs have more bacteria than bathrooms and toilet seats? I remember his teachings about flowers and how they need insects, birds and other animals to pollinate. He showed us the similarities of humans and flowers. He taught us that certain flowers can only be pollinated and reproduced by one specific insect. That happens to be the only insect who eats the nectar and helps it to pollinate. They relay on each other to exist. Can you see the beauty of earth? He taught us that slime mold and fungi are cool. He showed us a bunch of videos and how fascinating and fast they quickly grown. He taught us that earthday is everyday! If you can’t remember a single thing from his class, you will remember that. The list goes on, as to the knowledge that Mr. Scott has passed onto his students. And the forever information that they pass onto their children. He has touched and changed so many of our lives. All

Mr. Scott was my Earth Science teacher Freshman year. Although the subject held zero interest to me, his ability to engage, motivate, cultivate and inspire the awkward minds of 14/15 year olds speaks to his ability to guide and influence young people.

He was the only teacher that ever showed us teachers are people. From his music choices to the way he taught, everything was done with passion. To fire Mr. Scott would be the worst idea college park would ever make!
