Doug is one of the most passionate educators I have had the opportunity to learn from. He truly cares about his students and takes their learning experience very seriously. Years after my sister and I had him, he would come to my family's house to pick plants to use in his biology class. Even 14 years after graduating College Park, I am incredibly grateful for having had Doug as a teacher. Future students deserve to have him as a teacher.

I stand with Mr. Scott. Letting him go because he gave a student the grade he deserved is a serious breach of integrity. If the student worked hard, he/she would have passed and had no worry about grades. My so is a senior this school year and I wish he had the privilege of having Mr. Scott as a teacher. I sign to stand up against the injustice Principal Alvarez and the MDUSD are committing.

Mr. Scott was one of the realest teachers at CP. I couldnt have asked for a better teacher! He made me always want to come to class and learn that EVERYDAY IS EARTH DAY. And I teach my daughter today the same thing. You are one hell of a teacher!

Mr Scot taught two of my children from 1999 to 2005. He was an excellent teacher and made a positive difference in their lives. They still talk about him. It would be a shame to deprive future students of his gift for teaching.

I have know Douglas Walter Scott for some 40 years. I KNOW, TRUST and BELIVE that Mr. Scott cares more about his students and teaching than he does anything else on the planet. Everything he does in his life is to afford students a place to learn, spark creativity and independence. Albeit he is unconventional in his methods, looks and personality, he is one of the most committed teachers that I have ever know. It is a shame that the Mt Diablo school system and the union have not been a supporter of his in this current issue that has come before him as well as past issues. Please Please listen to his plea and find a way to mediate this situation from a place of serving the children versus service EGO'S! I stand with Mr SCOTT!

Mr. Scott taught both my children at College Oark and he did an excellent job at engaging the students in the material, helping them find thier thoughts snd voice them on the topics. He loves to teach and us doing so for all the rights reasons that bring passion for learning to the students. Dont let him go for being different. Allow diversity in the classrooms to open our kids eyes and learn from unique creative people!!

He should not be punished for trying to do what’s right! If the student did earn enough to graduate then is the students fault for not working hard enough! Also Mr. Scott made biology fun with the way he taught!

While the principal’s concern for stats resulting in funding is commendable and part of the job description; teachers need hold the standard. When administration staff are allowed any power which does not support the teachers they are employed to enable, they should seek other employment.
