Doug Scott cares about his students. More than most other teachers I can remember from my years at College Park HS ( '08- '12)

Mr. Scott took science from being a subject of memorizing words and concepts to an interactive and inquiry experience. He is the reason I became a teacher.

I was his student and TA. This is kind man who’s passion is teaching those who wish to learn about the planet and all it’s beautiful intricacies. He deserves to continue on with a joyful heart!

Why would you want to get rid of probably the only teacher at college park high school who actually loves his job and puts so much passion into teaching? It’s utterly ridiculous and doesn’t make any type of sense to me. Keep fighting Mr. Scott.

I taught science with Mr. Scott during virtually all of his career at CPHS -- we even shared a classroom for a couple of years, and I found him to be extremely dedicated, inspired, and unconventional (in a good way).
He also stayed true to his convictions and refused to be intimidated by self-serving, disingenuous administrators -- a trait that we had in common. More than any other reason, this attribute has resulted in his current demise.

Mr. Scott is a dedicated and exemplary teacher who has had a positive impact on thousands of students. His dismissal is unjust and unwarranted. He should be reinstated and his good reputation restored.
