What happened to these children and the efforts made to cover it up is unacceptable.

Stop litigating! Educate DJ, pay him the award from the lawsuit, fire those that falsified the records.

I am a man with the same challenges Dj is facing as far as ability to learn. I have adhd with a learni g disability and a language imapairment. If it wasnt for my mother Susan Magers staying on top of the schools i went to ensuring a decent education. I would have struggled as well. But the fact are turning their backs on another child with same disabilities as me because he is a black child is a disgrace. Im sorry DJ for the hand dealt to you. We will make it right so you can get back on track.

White is right in Sarasota, and that's wrong.

How hard is it to admit you stole 6 years of this little boys life away from him? Half of his education!! I cannot begin to imagine how traumatizing this was. So now you choose to appeal the decisions? Of course you would though, because why would a school district ever want to admit they were wrong? The long-term negative effects of your negligence will never be forgotten by us taxpayers, especially during elections.

I pay taxes in Sarasota County for all students to receive an education. The school board needs to acknowledge that this happened, NOT appeal it. Are events like this still happening? That needs to be determined, are there other students who are left behind with no advocates in Sarasota County Schools? This is an absolute lack of leadership among several members of the school board, and it seems to happen over and over.

Not that hard to admit the mistake and do what is right. These families should not have to fight so hard for a good education for their children in a county that is as wealthy as Sarasota.
