FAPE for DJ Tyrant District Staff and Board need to be checked

my grandson is in a similar situation

I’m appalled by the arrogance of the Sarasota School Board in their treatment of DJ and the countless others that have fallen through the cracks.

This is unacceptable from an institution that is tax payer funded and responsible for the lives of our children. They need to be publicly shamed and made to make it right.

Every student. Every day. Right?

Reprehensible! Shame on you Sarasota County Schools!

Sarasota County School Board is a complete disgrace and does NOT deserve to be re-elected by its community. Every child deserves an education. Every single day. Justice for DJ.

I have read prevailing order and the arrogance demonstrated by the Sarasota County School Board is astounding. The original school was wrong when it removed DJ from general education classes for the purposes of boosting their FCAT scores and The District was wrong when they covered it up. It's time to make this right and provide DJ the support he deserves to live his best life. The school board needs to pony up and stop worrying about the financial and legal implications of admitting and atoning for their mistakes. Enough is enough!

Here's a list of 1,200 advocates to potentially engage quite effectively in your cause. They may want to return to their formerly quiet, politically neutral lives after they signed the Open Letter; however if they did not include the "school to prison pipeline" (and it's systemic roots in our education system) as yet another causal "white supremacy" danger to the health and welfare of black peoplet, they would instantly lose credibility as professionals. Call them (and their institutions) out and let them know they have a duty to address this issue in it's entire ugliness and finally affect real change. I too have been fighting my school district for 3 yrs of education discrimination against my disabled, African American Son! This has to stop!!!

Children are to be rehabilitated not CRIMINALIZED!

This is a complete disregard for this student, his family, other students with disabilities, the basic right to be educated and civil right!

Get with it Sarasota County School Board. DJ is due his education. There's a multitude of reasons why you denied that this individual is education. And I see not much has changed in 40 years. What a shame.

Shame shame shame! Education to prison pipeline with systematic racism by privileged white people! You know better - do better!

This is unacceptable! Those who have held this young man back should have to sit with their face to a wall every day for eight years!

Pay this young man so he can use the money to get what the snobby Sarasota County Elitist did not provide to him - an education!!
