The driver being sentenced with a one sentence is insane. They wonder why people take the law into their own hands. Bless your family.

This is not justice for Chris, his family or us his neighbors who will always live with the horrific events of that night. Even if it was an accident, it wasn't an accident when the driver fled, hide & cleaned the vehicle for weeks while the police searched for him. He was hoping to get away with it and never be found.

We need to hold people accountable for their actions.
A one year sentence certainly doesn't equate to the wonderful man whose life he took. If the judge does not see fit to keep this man in prison longer, then other alternatives, like no vehicle, or an extended amount of service work! He is getting off to easy.

I am so sorry for Chris's family and friends. This was a senseless act. There are too many of these tradegys .there is never any reason to get behind the wheel impaired And then a high and run. There needs to be stricker penalties.

As I teach my 16 year old son to drive I actually have stressed the right side of the road as he is driving. He tends to hug this side of the line. I have given him examples such as Chris. Someone could be on the side of the road that you can't see until you get right up to them. This happened actually this morning while driving to baseball practice. There was someone walking on the Belair bypass. And with all the snow he was walking in the road. It was 0630 and still a bit dark. It was hard to see this person. I stressed how he could have hit him. And if he did he needed to stop and call 911. Accidents happen but you don't leave, go to school every day, clean your vehicle of evidence until you are found by the police months later. This person made a conscious decision to leave and carry on with life while Chris could not. 10 years is not even enough for a conscious decision to do wrong. As you embark upon the sentencing keep your biggest supports close and let them hold you up if this is what you need. Never think you are alone when loved ones are by your side. Praying for the best.

I believe the accused is some how related to law enforcement. He is truly being protected for a crime he committed. Where is the justice of the dead!

When accident occurs people stop to help If this would have happened Chris may have been alive still today But this person just left didn't even care Head car in the garage try to clean it up Ignored all the all the information on TV about it and everybody talking about it didn't care Well that is considered murder...That should be full sentence ..........not one year and one day. A lot of people that loved chris will pay for it the rest of your lives

This young man deserves the max sentence. He took a life, left the scene, covered up by hiding his vehicle and showed no concern for the victim. He was "busy" and went on with his life. He deserves no mercy. Meanwhile the friends and family of Chris Widomski are shattered and will never have him with them again.

This young man is not an outstanding citizen in any way. He took away Chris's life. Chris's family lost a son a father a friend. everything. and this monster looses nothing? ludicrous.

It is a shame that our justice system has failed. It is more shameful that the State's attorney's office failed to investigate the accident scene, ask for witness statements and fail to read the Police reports. Isn't that a part of their job? And to rub it in, a plea bargain that the family did not agree to. Such worthlessness for a family that lost everything.
