I didn't realize it was so easy to get away with murder. Based on what he is getting everyone should do it. If is so inconsiderate at this age and knows he can get away with murder image what he is going to be like in 20 years. An outstanding citizen? I doubt it. I understand accidents happen up you own up to them and show remorse, he doesn't seem to be doing any of that.

I'm praying for the family and friends of Chris, that the sentencing will fit the crime. The fact that a death occurred should negate a plea bargain at all. While it wasn't intentional, it was the result of a lack of attention of the driver. The fact that it is known he was aware of the fact he hit a person, and ran, should attest to the driver's true character. Ok, he was scared. Perhaps under the influence of drugs. Or alcohol. He could have come forward the next morning, sober, and tried to explain why he didn't stop. But he hid out and tried to cover it all up. Removing evidence of what had happened. If his father lied to the police when they came to the house about his where his son was, he should be charged as well. With interfering with an investigation and complicity. If the driver is given a light sentence, others will definitely use the same tactics to get off easy. It is my hope that the judge takes the loss of this man's life as seriously as the family and friends do. And applies a full sentence to be served before, and separately to the drug charges. The drug charges being a separate criminal offense. Thank you for your consideration.

This is not justice for this grieving family! Had the driver stopped and showed compassion at the time of this unfortunate accident I'm sure they could find forgiveness. Accidents happen! But when you leave someone dying, alone, and a family with no closure it is WRONG! And you should be punished accordingly!

There are no words to describe how despicable the actions were of this killer. Yes Killer. Why should he walk free after shattering so many lives.
I have lost a ton of trust in the "justice system" because of all of the perpetrators walking around because of "plea" bargaining" Seriously, How much of a bargain did Chris and his family get..Right , ZERO...I think it is time for someone in our so call justice system (not capitalized on purpose) to step up to the plate and give this family justice and closure. This "student" needs to be prosecuted to fullest extent of the real law, not one bargained for behind closed doors. And only for what he did to Chris, but for running, hiding and making lame "poor me" excuses. No not poor you. What you DID was poor and inexcusable. Step up to the plate Judge, throw the book at him.

Chris Widomski was a wonderful son and father, and the beloved partner of Ronda Allen, my lifelong friend. Chris's life was cut short on March 5, 2015, by the actions of the defendant, leaving Ronda and the Widomski family to try to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.
Had the defendant remained at the scene, he would have shown himself to be a responsible and caring member of society. Instead, after clearing the broken remnants of the snowblower out from under his vehicle, he fled. Fear was his excuse for fleeing the scene-- but he then hid himself away from law enforcement, repaired the vehicle so that there would be no evidence of what he had done... and even made sure to wipe away the life blood of the man he'd so callously killed.
He failed to turn himself in because he claimed he was too busy with his studies. I fail to see how anyone with a functioning conscience could even sleep at night, knowing that he'd killed a man and left him lying in the road, much less have the presence of mind to continue on with university courses.
All of the defendant's actions speak to a depravity of mind and conscience that cannot be excused by simple fear or a busy schedule. The lack of morals and basic human decency demonstrated by the defendant is astounding, yet even more astounding is the chance that this individual may not even be forced to pay his full debt to society.
Justice demands that this defendant, who has shown himself to be not only a coward, but also an unconscionable moral reprobate, be handed the maximum sentence for his actions.
The court is tasked with ensuring justice. There was no leniency shown by the defendant when he left Chris Widomski to die in the street. There was no mercy shown to Chris' family when he his himself away and made every attempt to cover up his crime. The court, if it truly believes in justice, should show no leniency toward the defendant.

Sending prayers and hugs. One -two years is not enough. For covering up a crime and leaving a man for dead. I pay this man gets more ridiculous. This family has suffered enough . This sentence is an insult. I pray we get justice for Chris and his family . I am so disgusted with are judicial system. Let someone get off almost Scott free for this not right .
