This is a terrible miscarriage of justice. What message does this send to other would-be hit and run offenders? He deserves so much more time behind bars. He knew he was guilty-he went to great lengths to hide his identity. This sentence is a disgrace. He left the poor guy to die. The least he could've done was call 911.

If this man doesn't get the justice he deserves then it just goes to show you that out nation REALLY is screwed. This man was someone's child, someone's father, someone's grandchildren, and someone's friend. The person that hit him and left him to die should receive a life sentence (at LEAST 25 years)!! The statement says "he didn't realize HE was at fault". He HIT someone with his vehicle and left them to DIE! How could he not know he was at fault?!?! And obviously he was scared, but ANYONE would be, that doesn't give you reason/permission to leave the scene, and definitely not permission to go HIDE your vehicle, and FIX it, and CLEAN it. It obvious he was trying to hide it. Please give this man and his family the justice they deserve by sending his MURDERER to jail for at LEAST a life sentence. You can't just slap people on the hand and send them back out to do it again.

Justice needs to be matching to the crime. Leaving a person on the side of the road, hiding your car, cleaning and carrying on with your busy life, shows zero remorse, zero feelings for human life. Give him a proper sentence for murder. An accident would had been stopping, aiding helping not fleeing and hiding. Time to hand sentences so people think before acting. Give Chris family, friends and children justice.

I'm sick of the court system constantly not giving the guilty the sentence that they deserve, I'm sick of plea deals, I'm sick that Chris' family's not having closure. Have you all been doing your job for so long that you just don't care anymore. Apparently someone needs to tell you that the guilty and his family lie to save his ass. Why is the family not charged for aiding this guilty man. And one more thing...when they go into the state facility to serve their sentence they need to stay the for the entire time not be let out after only a few months. Here's a shocker for the court system, have you forgotten that probation does not work ! The family of Chris' cannot go on with their life until this guilty man is given the appropriate sentence.
