My sister ans 2 nieces were killed by a drunk driver who was driving on a suspended license for dui. His excuse was it was his birthday! He got 6 years for involuntary manslaughter and destroyed my family. Rules need to be stricter for all these idiots.

Chris was and awesome and kind hearted guy. This justice system is total BS!!! People wonder why some take the law into their own hands. One year is a slap in the face to the family and friends of Chris. I hope this guy gets what's coming to him in jail. I hope a BBC gets rammed right up in him. God bless Chris and his loved ones...

Justice needs to be served. Does this person even have remorse? How dare he say he was too busy to report he was responsible for the hit & run death! What are we teaching our children/young adults? That a year is enough time to serve for not only killing someone but then trying to get away with it! If we do not follow through and hold people accountable for their actions, our society will be failing itself, and the future looks bleak! No one deserves a shorter sentence for killing another person! Ask the family how they would feel if tables were turned!

It's a shame that someone, anyone's life can mean so little in the STATE of MD. What are laws written for? Just the poor that cannot afford an expensive attorney to switch the words of the "Written Law" to suit his case so the criminal can get off! Which is how I think a lot of people feel about this case!

He is knowingly guilty for taking someone else's life, by knowingly I mean he hid the car and cleaned off the evidence, that is terrible and I believe a harsher sentence should be imposed.

Accidents happen but leaving the scene and covering it up is an equivalent to murder.
