Sounds like a bunch of excuses. The guy knew what he did the second it happened. And knew it even more when trying to "clean" tamper with evidence. Time to be man grow up and take responsibility for you actions.

This sentence is way too lean for taking someone's life. I don't think he should get life, but the consequences of taking someone else's life should be more severe.

Read on line Balto. Sun/Aegis 3/1015. MSP stated that speed was a major factor/ not snow. Chtris was not at fault. This was a hit & run resulting in death of our son! The punk coward Kenneth Borys hit the truck for two weeks in his aunts house next door. Why did it take eight months to investigate and then charge, release his name, he was
arrested 10 days after the accident. We have not been treated fairly and we believe there is something being with held. This is not justice, appears the state is bending over for the defendant. He was also arrested and charged for drug possession,etc.

1 year? That's it?! Only 1 year? Why are we all so outraged about 1 year? It's because we all know that in the grand scheme of our entire lives, 1 year is NOTHING. It's meaningless. It's irrelevant. It's a flash in the pan. A blip on the radar. Now 15 years. That would mean something. That's a significant percentage of your lifetime. That's over a decade of time. There is no comparison.

Justice was not served, the community is outraged, especially friends and family of the deceased. The perpetrator should not have been allowed to plea bargain after committing such a grievous offense. Please do what's right for these young impressionable boys and show them that the bad guys don't win Mr Cassilly!

The fact that this coward tried to cover up the fact that he hit and killed Chris proves that he doesnt have high moral character whatsoever, and he deserves the maximum amount of time in jail.

Killing someone, possibly while intoxicated at the time, and hiding the evidence certainly deserves more time IN jail (not on work release) and a consecutive sentence for his drug charges. Had he stopped immediately and called for help, Chris might still be with us. Monster is the right word for this person, who I refuse to refer to as a man. This monster's actions have impacted a family for a lifetime. Why would he deserve leniency when he was only thinking of himself that night and ever since he took the life of a decent man? I've seen people get longer sentences for driving on a suspended license or simple assault. The judge in this case needs to step up and do what's right.

I believe this is young adult should have spent years behind bars. There is NO reason for a plea deal for 1 yr sentence.

To be given anything less than the maximum sentence in this situation is disgusting. He drove down the road after hitting this man, pulled the snowblower out from his vehicle, and continued to drive as if nothing happened. He then hid and attempted to clean and repair the vehicle. A person like this deserves harsh punishment. I would NEVER drive off if I even suspected I hit someone. I would feel leniency would be justified if he stopped and tried to help. He did the exact opposite and is a horrible excuse for a human.
