The FWC is at fault. This was a socialized wolf & simy needed to be returned to Seacrest & his pack- ALIVE. Whoever gave the order to kill him should be held responsible for this needless & careless death!!

I love volunteering here. Everyone I have met have the most generious and wonderful I have known. The wolves are no different. After being there fork it's a couple years, everyone one there have become my family so basically FWC murdered one of my family.

I have not seen a VALID reason why this wolf was killed and not tranquilizaed and returned home. This whole situation was mishandled by the FWC and someone should be held accountable - although nothing can repair/replace the damage done by killing this rare wolf.

I'm from Florida and have visited the Seacrest Wolf Preserve. The FWC should be ashamed of theirselves for what they have done. This woman asked for help not for death. I understand they have a job to do but to kill an isolated animal instead of tranquilizing him is insane. I hope the office gets what's coming to him. This was a very sorry damn move

The FWC have now tried to deflect the attention away from this horrific injustice by now attacking the Executive Director of the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge located in a neighboring county of Seacrest. Take a look at the Northwest Daily News article. Link is http://www.nwfdailynews.com/. Type Hyenas in the Search areat to find he articles and be sure to read the comments at the end of the recent article to understand there is a another side to the story.
The ECWR took over the old run down Sasquatch Zoo in 2013 and has done amazing things since they took over. One standout was to immediately build a new enclosure for Albert the Bear who still suffers from chronic arthritis because until his new home with grass he lived on concrete for 24 years. They also started laser therapy to help ease his pain. Of course the small concrete bear enclosure met FFWC standards.

I treasure my photo of a wolf from Seacrest Wolf Preserve giving me a kiss! The wolves are beautiful, and enjoy interacting with my classes. We make regular educational and fun field trips to the preserve to enjoy these amazing animals. They students love to see and interact with them. They are conditioned to socialize with humans. They are gentle and curious. They are highly socialized. Poor Chaco was terrified to be away from family. What is wrong with the Fish and Wildlife people??? They acted in such an ignorant, trigger-happy way! The agency should have competent professionals who are aware of the facts before slaughtering an innocent, beloved member of the Seacrest family! The ignorant agents there now should visit my elementary class so my students can teach them some facts about wolves!

Do they not understand that these wolves are conditioned to humans and are not a threat that wild wolves might be? Why don't they use some common sense and use less tragic measures to handle this situation, such as using tranquilizer darts instead of bullets!!!! This is how wild wolves are handled anyway. Where is the sense in killing these magnificent, endangered creatures? Fish and Wildlife personnel should have the know-how to handle situations like this, or find new people who do! They don't belong in this agency.
