the other dog's owners should be held accountable for the actions of their animal, not be allowed tomake excuses for it. The authorities should order this animal tobe put down soit cannot do the same to another small dog.

The owners of dogs like this need to be accountable. Large fines and loss of their pet for a start. Buttons was a little angel and this is tragic

My parents always enjoyed their visits with Buttons at Willow Manor. He will be missed by so many, especially by John & Yvonne.

To whoever has the power please do the right thing and put into law that any dog that maims or kills another dog should automatically be put down. This should never have happened.

I hope we win, this was unfortunately a sad story that could have been prevented

So sad. Any dog who has been deemed dangerous needs to be put down. Pitt Meadows do the right thing.

My family will be there. We lost our little dog from a group of dogs at Hoffman Dog Park in Pitt Meadows. The owners just watched the dogs attack and only addressed their dogs when they noticed I had picked up one of the attacking dogs away from my dog. The group are regulars at the park and meet at 10 am most mornings. The City was aware of the incident and did nothing about their "pack" behaviour.

We loved Buttons! My son Seneca loved reading time with him at the local library! Our family is so sad hearing Buttons story. He helped so many people including my son. RIP Buttons

Crazy sad!!!! A poor fur family member lost their life to this! My dog was bitten when she was young and I grabbed her to save her. Thankfully she was okay but that's not always the case.

Unbelievable! Yet owners of these types of dogs think they are just big lapdogs.

I live in Pitt Meadows and also lost a small dog to a larger one in Hoffman Park a few years back. This has to stop will see you Tuesday. I also know John from our football club. Deepest sympathies. Brian

My dog was viciously attacked at a dog park. She was left with a severe puncture in her side and a bad limp from a bruised hind leg. Because the injuries were not deemed life threatening, nothing was done except for a report at the SPCA. This dog is still visiting the dog park! ( which we walk by but do NOT enter). Something needs to be done. My heart goes out to this family. I'm so sorry :(

This dog could have gone after a small child with a similar result.

IT is an outrage that so many innocent pets are killed by Pit Bulls and Pit Bull Type Dogs. They should be required to wear muzzles whenever they are taken out of the owners homes , and should be destroyed after one attack.
