This is a petition aimed at :
Wakefield District Community Safety Partnership
Phil Snowden was attacked horificallyin Mustang Sallys back in October 2010, as a result of drunken and mindless violence. This unprovoked attack resulted in injuries including brain damage and a fractured vertebra which will mean that he will need care for the rest of his life. We all feel that the partnership hasn't acted/supported this cause enough and given the support in putting procedures in place that could include some of the following: * Further procedures put in place to help prevent or reduce violence from alcohol. * Bouncers/nightlife marshalls to be placed inside of pubs and clubs not just on doors. * Further CCTV Monitoring. * Where acts of violence are carried out, prompt action taken against the place where it happened. i.e. in this instance Mustang Sallys. * More awareness of the effects of drunken violence from alcohol, in local schools. These are just some examples of what we feel could be done to prevent what happened to Phil happening to anyone else, but there are more that we feel could be discussed. We are also aware since this attack others have taken place in the areas that the partnership operates in someproving fatal. We have also left it up until this time to start this petition as we wanted to make sure Phil's condition was a bit more stable.
