Duquesne Light provides electricity to about 600,000 customers in Allegheny and Beaver Counties. The company wants to raise the rates of those customers by about $134 million, or almost 10% per family. The Public Utility Commission is currently investigating the hike to try to understand how such a large jump could be justified. The public comment period is open and you can let Duquesne Light know that you won't stand for such an increase by signing the petition today.
