Help us get urgent Gathorne Road on to North Street junction improvements

Definitely a dangerous junction and a strange omission considering the buildouts at the other junctions. This needs to be sorted now, instead of spending money on more pretty block paving for Greville Road.

Agree with petition - cars/lorries are often parked on both sides of the exit making it very difficult to pull out into traffic.

Terrible junction to navigate something needs to be done

I live on Gathorne Road and it's a constant nightmare to pull out onto North Street . Always cars, lorry's parked on the double yellow lines at all hours of the day. I leave for work at 07:00 sometimes by car and mostly by bike and even that is hard with cars parked illegally to get coffee from Parsons. It is so dangerous and an accident waiting to happen.

The number of near misses on this junction is frightening. The road has a much greater need for build outs as per Exeter and Lime Roads due to the direction of travel. Trying to exit Gathorne Road onto North Street is almost impossible to do safely when there is a large van or lorry causing a total blind spot. If a car is parked there it is sometimes possible to see through the parked vehicles windows to check for oncoming traffic but this is clearly unsafe.

Experienced this this morning. Massive truck sat on double yellows completely blocking the view onto North Street. Edging out felt very dangerous for both myself and any oncoming traffic, especially cyclists.

Dangerous for turning into North street! Blind spot with cars always parked up to the corner, while cars on North st approaching to fast.

This junction always has vans, trucks and cars parked on double yellows making it impossible to see both cars, cyclists, scooters and pedestrians safely!! This can’t happen soon enough as if this doesn’t change it is just a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt!!!

Pretty much every morning we have to edge out because we can not see past the cars/vans parked on the corner. I usually end up beeping, so I’d also like to say sorry to anyone I wake up at that end of Gathorne Road!

Live in Upton Rd and have had so many near misses. Worst problems are commercial cans with occupants getting bacon sandwiches and coffees so are there for a considerable time. If there are deliveries to the butcher on the other corner it is really dangerous.

I've lived in Gathorne Road for 21 years and this junction has got more and more dangerous over the years. I've had so many near misses as I inch out onto North Street - often the vehicles parked on the corner are high sided which makes it worse. Something needs to be done before there is a serious accident.

Parking here is is absolutely incessant. The road to the right curves away making it a total gamble every time you pull out
