The infrastructure just isn't suitable now, particularly with more cars on the road and more houses close by. It's about time this simple request was taken into account and provide a suitable walk way across the bridge. It's outrageous that we abide by so many flaky H and S laws but this footpath needs a petition to be considered for install. Lets be sensible and install the bridge.

Why is it taking so long for something to be done about this potential death trap? Surely a simple stand-alone walkway bridge could be constructed next to - but not touching - Julian's Bridge! I live in Corfe Mullen and dread crossing the bridge when walking into Wimborne.

It is inconceivable that there is huge expenditure creating a safe cycle way from Wimborne to Trickett’s cross but not across this bridge

This is a very dangerous route at present. Nobody seens to care about cycle access from Corfe Mullen to anywhere. Beryl bikes all very well but almost no cycle lanes.

Live in Corfe Mullen and we use this bridge regularly both driving and walking and it’s very dangerous when walking over trying to gauge speed of traffic & getting to refuge areas.

I absolutely agree that there should be a pedestrian bridge here, we often walk this way with our children, and in the summer with events such as vDub at the pub, it is really scary crossing with the children as traffic is even heavier.. it is shocking that nothing has been built here for the safety of pedestrians!

I was a resident in Wimborne for many years and still cycle and walk in the Wimborne area. I find crossing the bridge very scary both by foot and bike. I now avoid that route which is a shame as the area is lovely, but it is just too dangerous.

in its present state crossing here is a major hazard for pedestrians and is subject to heavy pedestrian use when events take place in the fields just over the bridge. These are becoming larger and more frequent increasing the need for a safe crossing.
