Joshua Cohen achieved GCSE marks of 2A* and 2A\'s this summer, below the 6A\'s required by the school for a guaranteed place. However, there are students who haven\'t achieved the minimum 6A\'s but have been given a place at sixth form this September. Whilst we all acknowledge Josh hasn\'t achieved the minimum requirement, we feel this is also a special circumstance. Josh\'s attitude has improved greatly since the January mocks in an attempt to achieve the desired minimum requirement. His effort levels have also noticeably improved. Josh also offers more than good grades to the school. A popular member of the year, Josh has many friends and brings a unique personality to the year. He has played a major part in the making of the \'Yearbook DVD\', utilising one of his main academic strengts in creating a quality collage of clips with fellow students. His presence will be surely missed by all at Latymer that know him, both staff and students. We feel Josh has been unfairly treated as he has shown a great improvement in attitude and has achieved A*\'s in the subjects he wishes to continue into sixth form, surpassing the school\'s requirement of students achieving A\'s in subjects they wish to continue at A Level. Therefore, we cannot understand why Josh hasn\'t been offered a place in sixth form whilst others with either 4 or 5 A-A*\'s have. Josh has had no major disciplinary problems and in no way creates or adds to any bad behaviour.

If other students got in with lower grades then why is he being held to a different standard? makes zero sense.

This is so unfair. Josh has worked his tail off and contributed so much to the school community. Let the boy stay!

Schools should look at the person not just a number on a page. give him a chance.
