Jonesboro City Council-Save Historic Rothinghouse Block 1896

Spent many years in Jonesboro, These old buildings need to be saved not torn down. The memories for yester years can still make memories in the future. They need to be renovated and saved so visitors come and see how the real Jonesboro was, Let the owners of the buildings choose what to do with them, You can bring new businesses to the area which you need to keep a town going and reserve the beauty in which it can be again.

Kathleen Williams Reeves, United States, Jonesboro. I was raised in Jonesboro from the age of 1 1/2 yrs old. I remember my mother taking me to these old stores while I was growing up with my sisters and brother. We need to stop tearing down the "OLD" buildings, and start restoring them to preserve the past. So much can be learned from every building out there. Please rethink your strategy Jonesboro when you come to vote for this building as well as any other buildings. Don't be so quick to condemn a building before realizing what a gem it can be again.

Went to Mississinewa schools and frequented the drug store years ago!!

As a tax payer and resident of Grant County plus I have family who live or have lived in Jonesboro I want to say NO to tearing this piece of history down. We need to stop erasing our history and start resurrecting it. Every successful city that has had population booms did so with holding on to many of their historical homes and areas for example-Carmel's Arts district is a HUGE draw as is Minnitrista in Muncie. People want less PRE-Fab and Big Box Mart and more local home grown and scenery.

I'm from Jonesboro. My father Jesse Glenn Butler built our home at 301 East 12th n Boyd Street My father was Town Marshall in the early 50,s n late 60,s n even earlier. He admired Jonesboro from the brick Main Street to every building there was. He was so proud to call Jonesboro his Home Town and Marveled how well the old structures were kept up so our children and grandchildren could see just how an old little town was kept. I remember The Trolley passing by our house on 12th Street just for a trial run. The clothing stores in town/ the hardware store/ even down to Atchison Barber Shop in his home. Too many towns want to keep up with the times. But let's keep Jonesboro on the map for what it was and what it still is. So much to tell and so little time Let's keep Jonesboro.

I've lived in Jonesboro most of my life I would like to see businesses going up in these spots .. Would like it to be attractive for people that come visits for our special events every year make us better!We Need Busineses !

I hope they don't knock it down because Jonesboro will not be the same without the building there but I do say that if they don't then some work needs to be done to it to make sure it is not going to just fall to the ground on its own

Please stop erasing the history of a place that is in the hearts of thousands of Americans. Restore the Rothinghouse Block, don't destroy it!

This should be saved and fixed up. This is history
