We should not drive homeowners and visitors away from our communities with poorly conceived and written threatening and intimidating rulings. Serious harm has been done by thoughtless county and/or city employees.

Second home owners are home owners in our community!
They should be welcome to come to their homes
They are an equal part of our community
Come home!

While I may not agree with every step listed in the petition, I strongly agree with the opening of discourse with the County about mistakes made and will affix my signature. Unifying local businesses and second homeowners (part-time residents) makes perfect sense, as our interests are aligned. Honestly, from my point of view, the same applies to permanent residents and second home-owners. If the order had not been lifted, I would have traveled to my part-time residence in June and announced to officials where I could be found if they wanted to take me to jail. We would have sheltered in place for 2 weeks after arrival, and still will do so, obeyed every local ordinance that was required for distancing applying to locals, and been the good citizens that we always strive to be while in Gunnison County. I have not seen evidence of this "snitch" program, but, if true,it is pretty eerie. A strong warning for second homeowners, even a pleading not to come giving good factual reasons, would have been very acceptable. But, the threat of a $5,000 fine, 18 months in jail, and a prohibition from visiting our own homes went to far.

Something tells me Gunnison County wants me to continue to pay my sewer bill and my property taxes, even if they won't let me visit.

These County Officials are in direct violation of their sworn oaths -- see Sections 241 & 242 of Title 18 of USCC & one Section of Title 14 of CRSA. Also exposed to Civil penalties.

Please read studies that reveal the correct infection and mortality rates, both of which suggest that the lockdown was no more effective than staying open in a similar way as Sweden.

Open safely and stop the negative targeting of our second homeowners! They give constantly to this community and there is not one shred of data that shows they have been a drain on resources.

We must take some control over this irresponsibility.
Please open our county.
