Public Vision for our Public Lands at the Celery Fields

The county spend a great deal of taxpayer dollars to create the Celery Fields as it is today. It would be a terrible waste to allow industry right next to this refuge.

Stop this development near Celery Fields!

We need to save the Celery Fields! I like the idea of more bike trails, walking/running trails.

Absolutely outrageous what our County Commissioners and certain Sarasota County Planners have done to our town and the loved celeryfields .Shameful that our district representative (4) who is up for re-election doesn’t represent the people but the developers he backs . I wonder if this was in their neighborhood , would they blindly continue to support?!! Another reason you don’t vote party affiliation but research each local candidate and why we have to vote yes to supporting single member districts! Takes away lot of the money that developers give for campaigns - look at how Pat Neal managed to get ‘partnership’’ with certain Sarasotacounty planners and BOCC to get everything he wanted for Grand Lakes ... including changing our road zoaning (!), and who lives with the consequences of all the traffic - my family and all the neighbors..hate politics.. let’s use common sense and good planning !

Isn't there enough growth happening just East of I-75? And special interests want more? Of course, it's called greed. I would recommend listening to the public - they vote.

Sarasota County has enough development going on already, lets not follow in Tampa's foot steps

There is no thought when selling off land. It's just about the money. There are thousands of homes being built and no roads that can accommodate the impending traffic to come. Why on earth would you put a dump next to the wetlands and bird sanctuary. Did anyone stop tp think that there would no longer be any birds there due to the dumps noise, pollution and traffic. Its bad enough that there is now a pick up and drop off for school buses there. Sarasota THINK before you build!!

Please protect Celery Fields from inappropriate development

These land parcels should be protected by the bird sanctuary and parks right. By no means this type of industry should be allow here.

If you want to sell your soul,sell your soul but leave what little nature we have alone.

Please save the celery fields for the future generations. Dont be short sighted.

The celery fields and the surrounding areas are a great place to go for a jog or walk or to take your family to see the local wildlife

It's time to listen to the general population, and not special interests, and those who "pay to play". If you're in your position of civic leadership, your longevity of position depends upon actions toward that goal which represent the best interests of the general population. That general population is becoming more engaged with the issues. The results should be obvious with the results of the elections of 2016. It's time for change for the better folks.

Save our land. Celery Fields are a gift. To the birds and other wildlife. People enjoy bird watching out there and having a cement crushing business will kill that joy. Leave something for people to enjoy and for wildlife to live in.
