Public Vision for our Public Lands at the Celery Fields

Do the right thing.

These scumbag County commissioners do whatever the developers want. And they won't be happy until every piece of green ground is asphalt....

We need green spaces too within the Sarasota area! Otherwise we’ll be like any town in any state. Let’s keep room for egrets and herons and spoonbills and hawks, kites and osprey, as well as deer, bobcats, panthers & gators!! Keep Florida Florida!

Do not leave the protection of the Celery Fields up to industry minded Commissioners. This primary election is critical! Let's get the people who voted for the dump out of office!

You MUST protect and enhance the Celery Fields now. This is our one and only chance to do so..Do NOT sell our public land to private developers.

Green space must be preserved as our population grows. Over time, preserving the quality of the Celery Fiels will provide much more financial and environmental benefits than any industrial development.

Birding isn't my thing, but people literally come to Sarasota from other countries to check out the wildlife at Celery Fields. Not only would the environmental impact be unacceptable, but the economic impact of paving the fields and converting them to industrial use should be a dealbreaker.

Leave the land alone!

Please protect the celery fields and don't sell public land in the area for housing developments that aren't needed.

Please preserve our celery fields! People out East deserve nice neighbors too!

Many Sarasota county residents and visitors come to the Celery Fields to enjoy the gift of Nature. It needs to be protected and maintained in its current state.

We bring 1500 students each year to the Celery Fields to learn about stormwater and bird ecology. The park should be expanded, not encroached on by incompatible industrial use!

I enjoy the celery fields park on occasion, and I'm intimately familiar with the area. Selling this land for industrial use would be to the detriment of the local community and wildlife. Industry should be encouraged in Sarasota, but this is simply the wrong place for it.

Please don't destroy the celery fields

Celery Fields is a beautiful nature park, and one of the loveliest sights to enjoy birding here in Sarasota

Leave it the way it is. Why do we need even more development in that area. Leave the little bit of good star gazing spots and nature spots we have alone

Of course the Commission will sell our land for industrial use. It's because they are elected by a minority of the registered voters. This is because independent (NPA) voters are denied voting in primaries. It is the slick legal Sarasota County method of gerrymandering voter registration. NPA's are disenfranchised automatically..

I am sick of local government not listening to what the people they represent want. They are not doting parents who know best they are selfish and money grabbing. Sarasota residents take note, do not support politicians who ignore the will of their constituents.

We moved to Sarasota for the beauty of the area and the celery fields are amazing - putting in an industrial site will ruin the quality of life I came to enjoy and would sooner leave the area than see such a blight - SAY NO! to this type of development

We need to keep Celery Fields for outdoor usage.
