Public Vision for our Public Lands at the Celery Fields

The lands surrounding the Celery Fields should be only those that are compatible and consistent with natural lands, conservation of birds and wildlife, human recreation and education, building community natural assets, and place-making.

Land should be used to enlarge Celery Fields.

We need more green- not red tide

We have let greed destroy our beautiful beaches. Save the wild life a spot in original natural beauty, before our beautiful paradise is paved for a parking lot...

Both resident and visitor human populations will continue to grow with a need for preserved passive recreational use.

At least save this part of Sarasota. Our commissioners have sold out to developers long enough.

The Celery Fields are a breath of fresh air! Don't let the fields that surround the Celery Fields be sold for industrial use!

Increasing growth east of the Celery Fields will require more places for outdoor activity. The parcels in question should be converted to public outdoor use.

The Celery Fields are truly a gift of Nature enjoyed by all residents from every County.

Please do not develop the area around the Celery fields. Green space is good. This area should not be used for industrial use.

Protect our Celery Fields!

The Celery Fields serves a delicate balance that is needed in Sarasota. Just look at what is happening to the beaches and waterfront, thanks to the Government and the killing of sea life. At this moment, the Government is not proving its ability to be capable in its stewardship for wildlife or the future. There is a plethora of empty buildings around Sarasota that could use with being demolished and developed. Before you go spoiling pristine wildlife and recreational land, start there. Use what already exists, before you crap up something else.

There’s many wonderful things to do with that land. A dump????Really??? Don’t let money make the decision. When it becomes about money we are doomed.

Let it be! That’s what we did for so long and look what Nature created for us to enjoy! The buffet lands are just as important to all this - LET THEM BE! Celebrate, respect, protect and preserve what we all enjoy that is the natural beauty and life giving lands of the Celery Fields- which INCLUDES the buffer land areas that the county had labeled “surplus land” . Please DO NOT develop or sell any more of it off!!

Please keep the Celery Fields free of incompatible development. We need to protect public lands for people and wildlife. The celery fields is an important birding spot enjoyed by thousands every year.

Keep our Celery Fields as a natural treasure

let's preserve this land for use that will blend with the area, not contrast. Kids in this area have no public use of basketball courts since the county gated and locked all the public schools.

I enjoy my time spent at the celery fields and love the wild life and sense of community I feel there. Please, leave this lovely place alone.,

This is a gem for Sarasota County. It is unique(often referred to as Celery Field mountain), pristine as only nature can make it. Provides fresh air and natural space for humans and the animal kingdom both. DO NOT RUIN the treasure by selling the lands near it to developers.
