Once it's gone, we can't get it back. So little green space already. Surely you have the vision to create community use and enjoyment of these lands in ways that can also generate income. Pavilions can be rented for events, entrance/parking fees charged to visitors. How about some creative thinking that encompasses preservation, community enjoyment, and income. You can do it!

The Celery Fields is a place of great beauty as well as a wildlife refuge. It is one of the best things about Sarasota County. It has become a tourist attraction and should be preserved, protected and expanded. Sarasota should treasure the Celery Fields.

I visited the Celery Fields, and the lovely hiking trails and bird sanctuary in Sarasota for 1st time last May. What a terrific resource, being enjoyed by hikers and families. Please, do not destroy this by hemming it in with noxious industrial uses.
