It shouldn't matter if you go to Handley, or Millbrook, or Sherando. Public schools need to chill out with dress code in general.

Why do we care abut what people wear, people express them selves through what they have on granted, you shouldn't come to school with just underwear on/ common sense / one can PRIDE them selves on what they have on

I completely think the dress code is unfair. I see all these girls wearing really short shorts and not getting in trouble, but I don’t even bother trying to wear shorts because I know I’ll get dress coded and it’s not fair.

Certain people get called out for the same exact thing everyone else is doing. The school is all about how you need to express yourself but yet when you do so there are consequences. People should have the freedom to do themselves

There have been times when I've had teachers stop me for revealing a small portion of my stomach (I tend to wear high waisted pants and things such as this to hide most of it) and times when I've seen girls walking around in t-shirt dresses, but no teachers calling them out. I want the right to wear what I want and express my individuality.

This petition is easily agreed with as it appears to be an issue. I have seen many people walk around our school in absolutely dire attire, I have also seen many girls get in trouble for wear the least offensive clothing imaginable. Of course then I've seen some girls purposefully accentuate cleavage and yet not be berated for actually violating the dress code of our school. We need comprehensive change that effects everyone, stopping boys from dropping their pants and making the rules for girls more universal.

I very much agree to this. There are girls who wear "inappropriate" clothing, yet don't get in trouble. Then there are girls who wear the same things, yet get in trouble. It's all unfair.

It really is unfair. How come guys can wear their pants around their feet and not get yelled at, but when I step into the school, I'm asked to cover up my "too revealing" sheer top? I had a shirt under it.

I don’t attend Handley, I attend Millbrook, but I do have close friends that go to Handley, and they should be able to express themselves just like everyone else.
