John C. Calhoun, former U.S. Vice President and Senator from South Carolina used his time in public office to advance the institution of Slavery, which he described as a "positive good" during an 1837 Senate floor speech. We are petitioning Augusta Commissioners to support changing the name of Calhoun Expressway to Veterans Expressway.
