John Abbott College: Investigate Campus Sexual Assault

My thoughts are with you. I'm a teacher at JAC who was once the target of a threat and I felt unsafe on campus for years, so I know a little of what you might be going through. Teachers are behind you on this one. I believe every word you are saying and am appalled at how the authorities dealt with this. Stay strong!

This is horrible noone should have to go through this without the support of a police officer telling her they're gonna catch the bastard

implementing consent workshops for all first year students and returning students in dorms should also be added to this list, as no one can say they "didn't know whether or not they got consent"

This is important.

Whether the video shows 'friendliness' or not, when a woman says 'no' to the perpetrator when inappropriate advances are made and the perpetrator does not walk away and continues to act, this in my opinion, is an assault and appropriate actions should be taken. 'NO means NO'!

Ask the officers who dismissed the case that if it was their daughter who went to school, thought they liked someone, who then took them into the bathroom, and was assaulted... is that ok? No one saw it so it didn't happen? The next time YOUR daughter calls or texts, crying or worried, that some type of sexual assault happened to her, reply with "surveillance saw you going together, and nothing else so it didn't happen" Get it together people, I understand there are situation where people cry wolf, but more investigation is need.

I hope the goals of this petition is met.

Shame on the SPVM for failing at their job to protect the vulnerable, and shame on JAC for not expelling this criminal. This is sick.

I am a second year student at John Abbott and have always felt very safe walking the halls at school. To hear about this happening and how it has not been taken seriously is very disheartening and extremely disappointing. Hopefully this petition will change perspectives on the seriousness of sexual assault. This type of behaviour cannot and will not be tolerated.

This should go without saying.

My daughter goes to Abbott, parents biggest fear. More women need to speak out and stop this now. Guys have to face the consequences.
