Let's be cautious about this investigation. Incidents like these are often lacking in evidence, thus it may have been another person using what I call "victimization" in order to establish false accusations and to press charges against someone for irrelevant reasons. That's just my speculation, because college campus have been a breeding ground for false accusations and victimization. I do not tolerate sexual assault either, but let's get critical about these situations before we end up accidentally supporting a false victim.

Being friendly with someone is not consenting to be assaulted, it does not deprive anyone of the right to be respected, and it is no excuse for a negligent policeman or school director to botch up their job.

I want to see responsible pro active action on the part of John Abbott, to ensure the safety of our students.

We all need to stand up for women's rights to be protected by our laws. As long as our police officers and educational institutions suppress the truth, blame the victims and do nothing to prosecute the perbetrators, our daughters, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, cousins, co-workers and friends will not have justice. We are fed up and we're not going to stay silent anymore.

I'm very disturbed by your response to this young woman. I would hope that you would extend to her the decency to hear her out and investigate the event seriously. Thank you.

Completely disgusted and heartbroken by the way this was handled. I wish Emily the best and I hope she gets the justice she deserves.

Lack of consent is assault. This is not a difficult concept. Please SPVM, give your officers better training.

Let's stop rape culture/victim shaming! No matter how friendly someone is or even if the person is at one time willing to do any sexual acts, once they've said no, no means NO. IT'S THAT SIMPLE!

I myself am not a JAC student, but my sister is. Even though I know that she's tough, has fantastic friends and a partner I trust she can rely on; I'm still nervous knowing that a scandal like this is now happening so close-by. My hope is that this petition will help the victim find justice and also protect my sister (and other students) in the future.

This girl should have the support she needs and the so called police officers need to take proper action.

Cette personne a besoin de l'aide d'un VRAI psychologue spécialisé dans ce genre de cas et du meilleur des avocats. Un incident grossièrement mal géré par ceux qui devaient investiguer.

School should be one of the places where students feel safe. How anyone can feel safe when such an act goes unpunished?
