Job's Daughter Members, MM, Adults Against 2019 Proposed Supreme Amendments

My point might not even matter as I’m a majority Rainbow from the Boston area and we don’t have JDs here, but if anybody is listening...give transitioned JDs the same abilities that you give cis JDs! Gender identity does not change hard work, amount of service, passion, imagination or anything. The heart is still the same. The effort is still the same. Give them the same privileges!

So if someone identifies as trans at age 12, 13, 14...you propose to just Majority them and push them out? Same outcome as the proposed amendment—exclusion and sending a statement that trans isn’t welcome

Adult men who don’t follow Jesus Christ should not have any rights to say anything or make policies that will significantly hurt this wonderful organization for young ladies.

As a PHQ, MM, and past Miss, I am appalled that this amendment was even allowed to be suggested. JDI, you already allow rampant bullying of girls my adult leaders without consequence and now there is potential to add sanctioned discrimination to the already rancid pot? You are no longer the Organization that 3 generations of women in my family have been proud to be part of.

I am a current Jobie in Missouri and a member of the LGBTQ+ community too. It makes me angry that some adults think it’s ok to take something away from someone who has earned it, regardless of what they are. Shame on YOU for proposing these amendment changes! We will NOT be bullied into conforming into your ideas of what we should be, that’s not what Mother Mick wanted.

As a PHQ, MM, mother of a current Job’ Daughter as well as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am saddened by these proposed amendment changes. I hope that the voting delegates hear the voices of our girls as well as the others and throw these ridiculous proposals out in the trash where they belong. Otherwise, I too fear that as others have stated, this once safe place for our youth to come and “belong” will come to be no more. Sad shame that there were such closed minded people who ever had the notion to even think about putting these words on paper.

Not a jobs daughter myself, but as a fellow Masonic youth member I want to help these girls’ voices be heard!

MM #98, Covina, CA. I urge the proponents of these controversial amendments to withdraw them. The Masonic family organizations should be about love, acceptance and support.

Service performed by the individual does not simply disappear when they decide to identify differently.

I have been active in Job’s since I was 11. I was a PHQ, PGBHQ, PSBHQ and a MM of our Order. I’m disgusted and saddened by these amendments and feel like they are on par with the disgusting politics of today. I was angry when girls who became pregnant disappeared, I was angry when I saw racism, and angry when I saw homophobia.. but this things were usually subtle actions and comments. This is the ultimate in adults running the show... please try and tell me that youth of today came up with this? I don’t think so. One of the awesome parts of Jobies is that I never had to worry about men dictating my experience... but that is what’s happening here. My daughter will not be a part of this kind of nonsense.

I’m ashamed that we even have to have this discussion. Being a sister at heart doesn’t change if your outside becomes who the member was always on the inside.

As a PHQ of Bethel 224 Whittier, I do not support intolerance or transphobic clarifications written into our bylaws that specifically single out queer, non-binary, or transitioned majority or current members of Job’s Daughters - we are better than this. If Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can come up with progressive stances - then we can too!
